Stress is an inevitable part of our life. It is impossible to eliminate it but we can learn to manage it and keep it under control. Why do I exercise? I exercise because somehow completely exhausting myself is the most relaxing part of my day. Many people hit the gym to shed those extra pounds, to improve physical fitness or to build muscles, but working out has above the neck benefits too.

Had a rough day in the office? Take a walk or head to the gym for quick work out. One of the mental benefits of exercise is stress relief. Any form of exercise from aerobics to yoga, can act as a stress reliever. When stress affects the brain, the rest of the body feels the impact as well. It is clinically proven that physical activities produce endorphin (the happy hormones ) in the brain that act as a natural pain killer and also improve the ability to sleep, which reduces stress. Regular exercise works as a therapy to reduce the symptoms of stress and anxiety. You are just one workout away from a good mood.
